A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Ardea herodias
The heron walked a little bit along the pond edge, though seemed quite calm and uncaring of how close it was to people. It stayed quite still for a long period of time.
Unknown for sure. It was found in Beacon Hill Park, standing on the edge of one pond.
Appeared to be quite used to people. Myself and another photographer managed to get fairly close when we approached it slowly. Despite it not seeming to care, distance was still kept just in case.
