Eochrois callianassa
A small moth about 10 mm long. It was uniformly cream-coloured with a dark brown underside, Labial palps were also pale and re-curved. Eyes were dark and antennae were swept back on either side of body.
Spotted in a nature reserve on an unknown species of plant - ?Proteales
My thanks to David Hewitt for the ID, albeit tentative. Larvae of this moth feed on banksia species. Some references show this moth with longer labial palps. http://www.pbase.com/merlotadl/image/133... http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/...
