Common Sun Skink

Eutropis multifasciata

Description:

Eutropis multifasciata (Kuhl, 1820) (family Scincidae) (syn. Mabuya multifasciata Fitzinger, 1826), is known as Many-lined or Common Sun Skink, Gold Skink, Ground Skink, Garden Lizard. It can be identified by the five or seven dark lines on its ventral surface parallel to its body line. It is a large thick-set skink with a total length of around 35cm. The color of the flanks can vary from an olive-brown to a reddish-orange. Throat color can vary from white to yellow; the tip of the snout is often flushed with reddish orange.

Habitat:

River bank in Brgy. Malupak, Lucban, Province of Quezon.
