Gumtree mirid nymph

Rayieria basifer

Description:

At 22mm long with orange and white bands almost everywhere this delicately built nymph reminds me of an undersea creature.

Habitat:

On eucalyptus leaf (possibly E moluccana) in tree-lined sports park.

Notes:

The adult mirid bug looks nothing like this nymph http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/112...

I think you should let the poor katydids off the hook and consider the assassins Reduviidae
