Description:

It measures 16.5cm long. There is no sexual dimorphism. Male and female are identical, with the characteristic red head contrasting with the rest of colors and orange beak.

Habitat:

He lives in swamps, rivers and open fields margins. Can be found in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso and can also occur occasionally between São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul in smaller quantities.
