Red-tailed Hawk (immature)

Buteo jamaicensis

Notes:

It was very windy at Plum Island today, and this immature Red-tail was facing into the wind and just barely moving along, giving great photo opps.

Thanks EnvUnlimited, I'm using a Canon 5D camera and the Canon 500mm lens I just got a few months ago. The lens is a big strp up from the 100-400mm lens I had before.

What a beautiful little baby! I love the first shot! He/she has beautiful coloring! I love RTH that have really dark markings against the light plumage.
