Leaves grow like in an iris.They are sword-like and 50x6 cm big. On half way from their base, the leaves widen from 5 to 6 cm. Many stripe-like veins from base to tip of the leaf. The flower stalk carries 20 substalks with 10 flowers each. Most of them are closed. Easily propagated by new plants evolving from the roots. Up to 0.5 m tall.
Growing in a shady area with moist, black soil.
