Description:

This bird has orange tail. The beak is yellow at the base, with the remaining dark gray. The top of the head, part of the face and throat are yellow. It has a blue belt in front of the eyes and forehead. It has a length 31 to 34 cm and shows sexual dimorphism.

Habitat:

Common in gallery forests, meadows, wetlands with trees and mangroves. In Brazil, the species is found in the Amazon Basin and the states of Goiás, Maranhão, Piauí, Bahia, Espirito Santo, north of Rio de Janeiro, northwest and north of Sao Paulo and northern Parana.
