Black-bellied Plover

Description:

Larger of the plover group. Adults black & white coloring. Juveniles may be more a subdued brownish color. A common coastal migrant. Often seen alone. Can be confused w/ the American Golden-Plover.

Habitat:

Observed at a County park along the Gulf of Mexico. Occasionally observed inland.
