Description:

Turkey-tail fungus imitator. Caps up to 7.5 cm across and 2.5 cm wide; velvety to smooth; semicircular- to kidney-shaped; forming rosettes on top of log; concentric zones of white, browns, and grays; radially bumpy and ridged. Gills white to grayish; complete and partial gills; sharp in mature brackets (#5) and thick in immature brackets (#6); up to 4-5 mm deep. Stem. None. KOH. Does not stain.

Habitat:

Growing on top, sides, and ends of fallen pine logs in moist, humid area under open mixed hardwood/pine woods near lake shore.
