Bare Faced Go-Away Bird

Corythaixoides personatus

Description:

Another beautiful bird. A light grey body , white head and chest, light brown under body. Smudge of olive green in the middle of the chest. Little grey brown tuft on the top of the head, and the black face. So fluffy and such a nice mixture of pastel colours, makes them look like they are permanently in soft focus.

Habitat:

Seen in open woodland near a stream in Serengeti National Park.

Notes:

Oh my goodness, so happy to have seen this bird, although I didn't get to hear it. These photos were taken from a moving vehicle. If you like the littler creatures and birds... don't go on group safaris.

Oh, I don't have a birding list. I just set out to see whatever I can see.. I never actually thought about it. I guess I will find out as I build up my spottings on PN :)

Glad to hear! May I ask what your birding life list total is (assuming you keep one)?

Yes, they are Turaco family, I didn't even realise that actually. Forever I have been wishing I could see a Turaco, and I have already seen two! :)
