Common Myna

Acridotheres tristis

Description:

Indian mynas are considered a pest species in NZ. There are conflicting reports , in several official pages, of their exact time of import in NZ. For an exaple, one report refers that mynas were introduced in 1870's, and another one, in 1970's. Anyway, it's a common sight in areas around Rotorua lake, all year round.
