Eastern Great Egret

Ardea alba modesta

Description:

All white heron, about 1m tall, with yellow bill and dark grey legs.

Habitat:

Seen close to habitation, roaming in paddy fields, just around the time when these are being flooded and prepared for shrimp breeding season. Seen in a densely populated Peninsula of Teknaf, somewhere along the border.
