Symphyotrichum novae-angliae
The plant grows up to 120 cm (47 inches) with a stout, hairy stem and lance-shaped leaves with entire margins. The flowers emerge in the summer and display white to pale purple ray florets as well as and yellow disc florets at the center.
It is native to almost every area in North America east of the Rocky Mountains.
