Procolobus kirkii
Gorgeous Colobus Monkeys, quite large monkeys with white to grey to black shades on their bodies and an overlaying rusty red colour on their backs and tops of the head. They have the wickedest hairdo's. Their tails are very long with a tuft on the end. Their feet are very long also, with long fingers, they really look like they should be new world monkeys.
Seen in the wild in Jozani Forest Park, a tall rainforest environment on the coast of Unguja. These were in a large group feeding in the trees, eating leaves.
This species is endangered, they are endemic to Zanzibar and most of those remaining are only found in this unenclosed Forest Park (25km2). They are wild and go where they want, but are quite unconcerned about people. Lovely creatures.

Beauty !
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
what a cute little monkey!
Nice series.
Ah well, I have just discovered project Noah and have a lifetimes supply :)
Some are years old, but still nice to share I think, and is so cool to map them all out.
Your welcome! You certainly have been busy on PN. It seems that you've been to some amazing locations.
Thank you! It is all them, they are so photogenic and not at all concerned about humans. It is a really nice place to spend time close to critters.
Awesome shots!
