Spruce-fir moss spider

Microhexura montivaga

Description:

I went to the Smoky Mountains to find a certain type of tarantula, the spruce-fir moss spider. The month was November, and it was starting to get a little chilly in the region. I had heard they live in the moss that collects at higher elevations, so that's where I went. In the national forest I came across this little guy. He was quick, and shy, and I had not so great of a camera, so this is the only real usable shot I got as I didn't want to dirupt the area too much. It has yet to be positively ID'd. The size was smaller than my fingernail and the blue tone reminds me of a freshly molted tarantula.

Notes:

Added name as ID though it has yet to be confirmed.
