Orange-banded Skipper

Description:

A small black butterfly with a distinct bright orange band on it's upper wings. It tried to fly away but was stuck onto a spider silk (see photo 1 and 3). It then manged to break free and fly away. A Ancistroides species - A. gemmifer or A. armatus.

Habitat:

On plants near Bombalai Jungle Lodge in Tawau Hills Park, Tawau, Sabah.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy: 50m diameter. Spotted this with DanDoucette. My very first spotting in Tawau Hills Park with Dan.
