Early purple orchid

Orchis mascula

Description:

It is a very polymorphous orchid. Orchis mascula is a herbaceous plant with stems up to 50–60 centimetres of height, green at the base and purple on the apex. The leaves are grouped at the base of the stem. It blooms from April to June.

Habitat:

Spotted at an evergreen oak forest (Quercus illex). Dehesa de Valdelatas
