Description:

Bushes, 3-5 feet tall. Inflorescences. fascicle ( a bundle of leaves or flowers growing crowded together); Flowers. Corolla lobes spreading, white to greenish white Leaves simple; elliptical; alternate.

Habitat:

Growing in extensive colonies in the understory of a predominantly deciduous woods.

Notes:

This is Vaccinium stamineum var. melanocarpum according to the Vascular Flora of the Carolinas, although recognized only as a synonym of V. stamineum.
