Omphalotus illudens
Three clusters of bright orange to pumpkin orange mushrooms Cap. 8-20 cm; one cluster more or less flat; largest shallowly vase-shaped with a small central "nipple"; bald; dry; the margin of smaller cluster entire, margin of largest undulating. Gills: Running slightly down the stem (but not as far as a chanterelle); close or crowded; bright orange to pale orange. Stem: approximately 10 cm long; 2-3 cm thick; tapering to base; solid; bald; pale orange to orange.
Growing in associations with roots of a large oak tree on a rural roadside.
