Toad in a hole

Anaxyrus

Description:

Toad in a burrow along the edge of Gregory's Pond in Midlothian, Virginia. It was late afternoon, heading toward dusk. I thought it was a Fowler's toad when I took the picture, but now I'm not sure. Could it be an American toad?
