In Indonesia this bird call ' burung gereja ', this is a small bird, body lenght around ( head to body ) 7 - 10 cm.
Your length guess is a little out, these are around the 14cm mark, just slightly smaller than the House Sparrow. Length is measured bill tip to tail tip. Tree Sparrows have a chocolate crown and both sexes are similar. House Sparrow males have a broad grey crown stripe while females are overall brown pattern, no black or white.

Hi everyone! Chief is correct with sparrow, but the house sparrow doesn't have a black spot on the cheek. This a tree sparrow.
