Termite-hill Gecko

Hemidactylus triedrus

Description:

Most Geckos cannot blink since they don't have eyelids. They often lick their eyes to keep them clean and moist.

Habitat:

A ground-dwelling nocturnal Gecko, mostly associated with Termite Mounds is often found foraging around areas that are teeming with insects. During one of the night transects, I came across this individual capitalising on the street lights that attracted the insects around it.
