Actitis hypoleuco
Small, rather short-legged, palearctic wader, some 20 cm in length. It has a plein brown coat with white underparts that peak to form white wedge at the shoulder - this wedge is important feature to ID this sandpiper.
Seen on shores of soda lake in central Kenya. Observed during four to five days of my stay on shores, in loosely congregated groups of various waders, gulls and cormorants.
Other birds observed in this flocks were Green, Wood and Marsh Sandpipers, Greenshanks, Ruffsn stilts and stints, as well as some smaller plovers (Common, Kittlitz, three-banded plover)
