Blue-tipped Dancer

Argia tibialis

There were several of them. They were in a dry area (though not far from water) of the woods. They preferred to land on the ground. Coloration had me a bit confused. Black with large tan markings on the thorax but has pale bluish rings along the abdomen with mostly pale blue tip.

Temperate forest. Rockwood Park, Virginia
