Ammotragus lervia
I used to not believe these existed since I could never find them, but they exist to me now :) They are brown all over with large, curved horns.
It is native to North Africa where it is considered vulnerable, but it has been introduced to the Guadalupe Mountains, and in Texas, California, and New Mexico in North America.
These 3 were in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. On the way down the hill into the canyon, I saw them running across a flat part towards the road, so I got my camera ready for when they did cross the road. Glad I saw them ahead of time because they never stopped running, then disappeared after the road! Also called Barbary Sheep.

Really great, I saw plenty of their tracks up in the plateaus in the state park, and a fellow hiker pointed to where he had just seen a herd of them. I hiked to the canyon he spotted them in and found extremely fresh tracks but no aoudad. . .
Thanks Maria, Rieko, and Karen :)
