Description:

Wasp is shiny black with white hind "feet." Slender, about 25 mm in body length.

Habitat:

Female wasp was building nest on the exterior of the Bear Creek Nature Center. Surrounding habitat is mixed conifer forest with Gambel's Oak understory, plus riparian trees and plants along Bear Creek.
