Helena gum moth

Description:

Very large male Saturnid moth (170mm)
Impressive 'eye spots' on hind wings; super snappy socks.

Habitat:

Resting on a glossy black brick wall. Attracted to lights at midnight at the local fire station which is in part of the local national park.

Notes:
