Issidae
Planthoppers are small insects which generally have stocky bodies. Their coloration is not what one would call striking (although beauty is in the eye of the beholder), and show up in brownish tones and shades. The Issidae family has about 1000 different species with 215 genera, however the systematics of Issidae are still uncertain. Some subfamilies have been recently classified into a separate family, Caliscelidae.
Habitat: Subtropical mountainous area, hot & humid, thick trees and brush.
Featured Issidae was roughly 0.5 cm in length.
