Barrow's Goldeneye

Bucephala islandica

Description:

Identified by the crescent-shaped white patch behind the eyes on the males. These are very plentiful here along with Common Goldeneyes, but I usually see them offshore so I haven't had a chance to get any closeups

Habitat:

A couple hundred yards from shore in a calm bay.
