Thanks Malcolm. I consulted bugguide and this seemed to be the only ID that fits.
Several species are covered by the generic name Cabbage White. I am not sure which variants you have there, nor if they are different from our European variants. A view of the underside of the hind wing would be a help. If it was here I would say a Small White probably...
