Peregrine Falcon (immature)

Falco peregrinus

Description:

Large falcon with a dark back and streaky chest. Dark head with slash below the eye. Light colored eyering. Small beak and large powerful yellow talons.

Habitat:

This bird was spotted in a dying tree over looking a lake.

Notes:

Over the past few days this tree has been nicknamed the Raptor Tree. There has been a Bald Eagle, Turkey Vultures, Cooper's Hawk, and just before I spotted the Peregrine a Prairie Falcon was spotted and photographed by another birder.
