Syrigma sibilatrix
Whistling Herons spotted in Laguna del Diario, Maldonado, Uruguay. They were happily grooming themselves while I snapped away. The Whistling Heron measures 53 to 64 cm in length and weighs about half a kilo. It is one of the most colourful of herons that can be found in Uruguay.

And thanks, I hadn't seen the previous comment :-)
Hehe, I see what you mean. ;-)
Photo # 3 is reminding me to do my yoga stretches. Same for #5. HA!!!!! I got a good chuckle.
Ah... I also didn't know you couldn't start a global mission. Anyway, clear and no worries of course :-)
I love your series! Great photos! They are fantastic birds.
Hi Stefania, I'd love to, but the title of the mission says it's about egrets and herons of the Caribbean islands. This photo was taken in Uruguay. Probably no what you're looking for?
too beautiful..
Thanks Stefania!
