Description:

Whistling Herons spotted in Laguna del Diario, Maldonado, Uruguay. They were happily grooming themselves while I snapped away. The Whistling Heron measures 53 to 64 cm in length and weighs about half a kilo. It is one of the most colourful of herons that can be found in Uruguay.
