campnosperma brevipetiolata
The first picture is of the trunk and the roots of the leaves. The second picture is of one of the leaves that has fallen. This is tall tree, about 3-4 meters tall. The leaves in the canopy are obovate with a heart shaped top. At the longest point of the leave, it is about 26 cm. At the widest point, the leaf is about 12.5 cm. The leaf margin is ENTIRE, and the leaf venation is NETTED PINNATE. The leaf arrangement is whorled. The leaf is rough with no hairs. The leaves have long stems. The bark of the tree is rough, platy, thin and peelable. The root system is; buttresses. When the leaves are alive, they are green but when they have died and are decaying, they are brown. When they are 'half-dead', they are yellow.
This tree was found in a secondary rainforest in our school's campus in Singapore. I saw this tree at 10:55-11:00 AM.
There were decaying matter such as leaves.
