Groundhog

Marmota monax

Description:

I think our resident 'hog is beginning to regret coming out of his nice snug burrow under our barn!

Habitat:

Semi rural

Notes:

We had a family of 3 groundhogs hanging out in our yard last year. Nice to see they are still around!

Thanks Jacob & Emily! The holes in our lawn are not quite so adorable but we love to watch these guys hang out on the rocks of our water feature.

How adorable! His expression does seem to be one of disappointment, especially the last photo! Great series!

I don't blame him Kerry - I think Punxsutawney Phil gave a bum steer with his weather forecast on Groundhog day!

I hope this means winter is permanently over! HA! So cute! Oh, I actually spotted a real penguin at the mall today. There was a kids nature show there.
