Eastern American Toad

Anaxyrus americanus

Description:

Medium sized toad. Could also be a Fowler's Toad, but I am fairly certain that it is the Eastern American Toad.

Habitat:

Found in a variety of habitats including forests, deciduous and evergreen, shrublands, open fields, residential yards, urban parks, and fringes of water bodies. Their habitat changes for a few weeks every year for breeding. They breed primarily in freshwater, but may also breed in temporary pools, ditches, old beaver flowages, flooded gravel pits, artificial ponds, coves in large lakes, floodplains of rivers, and shallow portions of streams
