Description:

This was a 3-foot tall plant with thin whitish stems and star-shaped yellow flowers. The flower had 5 long narrow petals and many long stamens. A close-up of the leaves is on pic 5.

Habitat:

Spotted at the Ancient Lakes area near the Columbia River in central Washington State. The area is an oasis in the high desert region of central Washington.

Notes:

Only grows in western North America.
