Golden Birdwing

Troides aeacus

Description:

Golden Birdwing (Troides aeacus) is a large butterfly belonging to the Swallowtail (Papilionidae family).

Habitat:

Found in Northern India, Nepal, Burma, China, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Taiwan, Cambodia, peninsular Malaysia and Indonesia. This one was spotted in the Bangkok Butterfly Garden.

Notes:

Sorry for the quality of the last photo, The heavens opened up and it poured down rain, and this butterfly was hiding in a dark place out of the rain. I didn't want to use flash!
