White-tailed deer tracks

Odocoileus virginianus

Notes:

If these are indeed White-tailed Deer prints, why are there three toes? Would their stride land exactly like that??

It looks like two different tracks on top of each other. Yes, they could step in the same spot with a front and back foot, or follow another deer and step on the already existing tracks. They look like White-tailed Deer tracks to me.
