The lichen identifcation was made by the bryologist, Dr. Cliff Smith (University of Hawaii at Manoa, Botany) who wrote (after viewing your photo): "It is one of the Parmeliella mariana group but it does not have apothecia which would definitely make it that species. It's sort of plump for that because I cannot see any obvious pegs on the margins of the inner lobes. The somewhat similar species off to the right side with the black hypothallus is Parmeliella nigrocincta."
