Black Tailed Rattlesnake

Description:

Four or five foot Black Tailed Rattlesnake.

Habitat:

Very steep boulder strewn hillside.

Notes:

Seen at the top of M Mountain. Saw him during the M Mountain run. He was about 15 yards from the platform on top of M mountain, where the Golf Tournament begins. After about 15 minutes of hikers walking by and getting closer than he liked, he slithered back into the boulders to hide. He had a very sweet disposition. Never acted aggressively or defensively, save for about half a second of rattling.
