Snowshoe Hare

The snowshoe hare is a species of hare that is found in North America. A species that it lives with is the lynx. The lynx is a major predator to the snowshoe hare. They both eat grass and the lynx also eats hares. The snowshoe hare has a symbiotic relationship with plants. This type of relationship is a commensalism because the hare benefits from eating the plant and the plant doesn't care. In the summer the hare turns brown and in the winter it turns white for camouflage. This species reproduces by sexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction requires 2 parents not 1.

Habitat:

The hare prefers younger forests to live in. The denser the forest and the more food in the area, the higher the hare population. In the summer it feeds on plants such as leaves, grass and ferns. In the winter it feeds on twigs and bark from trees. The hare has several predators and one of them is the lynx. The lynx eats about the same amount as the lynx except the lynx eats the snowshoe hare.
