Sycamore Tussock Moth (Caterpillar)

Halysidota harrisii

Description:

A caterpillar of the Sycamore Tussock Moth. Couldn't find much on this species, they eat sycamore trees and cause a burning, itching sensation when touched with their hairs. Pretty neat looking caterpillar though.

Habitat:

It is found in South-Eastern Canada, the Eastern parts of the United States (but not Florida) and North-Eastern Mexico.
