Giant Water Bug

Description:

2 1/2 inches long. I thought it was a cockroach, until I looked it up. This Giant Water bug is oval, middle and hind wings are flat. 6 legs. Front legs like claws.

Habitat:

This one was on the beach. I have seen them in freshwater ponds and lakes.
