Description:

Roughly 6-8 millimeters in body length. Note heavy hind femur ("thigh"), relatively long antennae.

Habitat:

Dry riparian corridor dominated by cottonwood and elm trees.

Notes:

These flies, in the larval stage, are predators of snails.
