Description:

In group acutifolia. Branch hyaline cells with many pores. Stem leaves short lingulate, hyaline cells sometimes 4-divided, efibrillose. Stem cortex without pores. Fascicles in groups of three with pendant branches far exceeding the length of the short spreading branches, leaves strongly 5-ranked. Plant dark red.

Habitat:

Poor fen- with Ledum and S. angustifolium.
