Unknown nest

Description:

This nest, presumably a wasp nest, was approximately 5 inches tall & was built on an unidentified thorn shrub. It is common for certain species to construct nests on trees & shrubs with thorns to protect the nest against predators. It appears to possibly be a mixture of both mud & chewed plant/wood fibers.

Habitat:

Tropical coastal shrub area.
