Chestnut-bellied Starling

Description:

A rufous-bellied starling, some 18cm in length. This member of Sturnidae family comes in two main colors - rufous or chestnut colored belly, and dark blue with greenish hue on chest and upperparts; lacjing the glossy shine all over. Grey-brown (again not glossy) head with pale eye - the eye is diagnostic. Its colours are better seen on my previous report from Chad: https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/76...

Habitat:

Common resident and intra-African migrant, found in arid Sahelian acacia savanna. Here, shot rapidly from a moving car in rural area of Niger state of Nigeria.
