Inca doves

Columbina inca

Description:

I first spotted an inca dove at High Island, Texas. Had never seen one before. This morning two little inca doves flew down on the concrete slab at our campsite in Louisiana. I watched as they scooted themselves together as close as they could get. So very very cute. So loving. They stayed there for a few minutes and then were off. I will always remember those little doves. A wonderful happy spotting.

Habitat:

This pair of inca doves were spotted at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in Butte La Rose, Louisiana.

It's a large lake in southern California near Palm Springs. Well known birding spot.

Thanks Jellis. Where is the Salton Sea? Hope you get to see inca doves too and hope it is a loving couple like these two.

Beautiful. I am hoping to see one on my trip to the Salton Sea. There was one reported there but haven't seen any recent reports.
