Cucumber Moth

Diaphania indica,

Description:

Belongs to Grass moth Family.Translucent whitish wings with broad dark brown borders. The body is whitish below, and brown on top of head...it has a "pompom"at the end of the abdomen.Because the tufts are well formed in this one I think it is a female.

Habitat:

What it was doing in my dining room I will never know...it is not even that I had any cucumbers at home! Or that I have planted any.

Notes:

A bit of a pest also known as: melon moth, pumpkin caterpillar, cucurbit caterpillar and watermelon worm.
